If you would have told me a few months ago that I would be evangelizing to strangers, I would not have believed you! However, Impact 360 has changed and challenged me in ways I could have never imagined.
We had the opportunity to evangelize to students in Auburn as well as students and adults in Utah. The Lord has truly broken my heart for the lost, and I have a new yearning to share my faith boldly. Why is it so important for us to share our faith? Simply put – because that’s exactly what Jesus did.
“His people are hurting, and we have access to the ultimate Comforter.”
My experiences in Auburn and Utah strengthened my confidence to have spiritual conversations by helping me realize that it’s not as scary as it sounds. The hardest part is just starting the conversation! We don’t realize how many people are eager to have spiritual conversations and are looking for answers. Looking back on my Utah experience in particular, I had a conversation with an LDS member at Snow College who had never heard our version of the Gospel, or the Good News. He was very receptive, and I could tell he was questioning some of the LDS doctrines. At the end, we asked him if there was anything specifically we could be praying for him, and he said, “Honestly, could you just pray that the real truth would be revealed to me.”
That struck me because I saw the genuine hunger for truth. Truth that does not wither away or change. Truth that is steadfast and consistent. Truth that can only be found in the one true God. May we continue to pray for the lost and dedicate our lives to the Great Commission – to go and make disciples of all the nations.
I will leave you with a quote by Saint Augustine that has touched me deeply. “Our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
