It has been said that success is having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person God has created you to be. When Nathan McFarland graduated high school in 2009, he began to challenge himself to grow – emotionally, intellectually, spiritually – and he began looking for “what’s next?”
When he discovered Impact 360, he became energized at the thought of taking a year to learn and experience things he might not find at a four-year college or university. After being accepted, Nathan made the transition from his home in Florida to Pine Mountain and quickly immersed himself into life at Impact 360. “I was blown away by all of the things that we learned and I really strengthened my faith in Christ and was able to find out why I believed what I believed. I was also able to learn a lot about myself and my strengths.”
After graduation from Impact 360, Nathan was accepted at Florida State University where he earned a degree in applied mathematics. He graduated in just three years, and attributes his focus and determination as a direct result of his time at Impact 360. “Impact 360 helped me learn to problem solve and use analytical thinking to to focus on my strengths, and I would not be where I am today without that experience.”
Today, Nathan works in the IT Department at the Chick-fil-A corporate offices in Atlanta, Georgia. Now, he is able to apply the God-given leadership skills and problem-solving techniques that he discovered at Impact 360 to help impact the lives of millions of people every day through his work at Chick-fil-A.
Nathan’s story is one of hard work, great courage, focused determination, and strong will. Now that’s a success story if we’ve ever heard one!
