What is worldview? Worldview is a web of habit-forming beliefs about the biggest questions of life that help us make sense of reality. As Christians, dissecting and understanding our worldview can be challenging to navigate in a hurried and confused world. Worldview is not addressed in the church nearly as much as it should be today, which can form bits and pieces of doubt amongst Christians. Understanding why we think through decisions and how we live our lives is critically important to dive deeper into our faith.
So, what is a Biblically accurate worldview? A Biblically Accurate Worldview or Christian Worldview is defined as a lens through which we see our world, how we respond to life’s biggest challenges and triumphs as Jesus would, and how we should live according to scripture.
The Impact 360 Fellows Class 19 is currently studying Christian worldview through a class instructed by Dr. Matt Dee. We discussed the definition of a worldview as well as how to challenge other worldviews, such as Naturalism, Nihilism, Atheism, Pantheism, and Deism.
We learned how to analyze different worldviews by asking the four worldview truth questions: What is our Nature? What is our World? What is our Problem? What is our End? We used the answers to apply the three worldview tests: Internal Consistency, External Consistency, and Existential Consistency. What we learned was that these four truths and tests are extremely important to diving deep into a worldview, and we must apply it to our own. As Christians, we should be strong in our worldview when objections come our way. At the end of the week, Class 19 put their knowledge to practice. It made their way to the University of Auburn to engage and practice spiritual conversations with many different groups of people.
This was the Fellows’ first of many spiritual conversations during their time at Impact 360.
As a Class 19 fellow, we ask for your prayers in continuing this new journey.
With grace,
Hudson Powell, Class XIX Fellows
